Charter History

Approximately 35 years ago a group of sixteen Deltas representing chapters from several states, sought to perpetuate their ideals through the union of college-educated women. These women saw the need in the Minneapolis/St. Paul community and felt that collectively they could provide a service and further the Five Point Program Thrust. To continue the advancement and ideals of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,the Minneapolis/St. Paul Alumnae Chapter was chartered. The chapter was composed of Deltas from Minneapolis and St. Paul with the seat being in Minneapolis. The original application for a chapter was submitted by Soror Jeanne I. Wilson and the chapter was approved for establishment on March 12, 1966.
